Ngebray.com,- The house of Representatives passed a bill that would repeal and replace Obamacare. Representatives voted 217 favor and 213 against the Republican health care bill. “The ayes are 217, and the nays are 213. The bill is passed and without objection, the motion to reconsider is laid upon the table.”said the court.
The vote comes after multiple defecting Republicans were persuaded to join rank. Critics argue that the legislation penalizes people with pre-existing conditions. Under the proposed plan, such people may be exposed to higher premiums on their insurance.
The bill is the GOP’s second attempt at healthcare reform since President Trump took office. On March 24, 2017, a speaker representative Paul Ryan said, “This is a setback no two ways about it. But it is not the end of the story because I know that every man and woman in this conference is now motivated more than ever to step up our game, to deliver on our promises”.
Republicans chose not to bring a bill to the floor in March when it was clear it would fail.
