Ngebray.com,- Experts say global cyber attack possibly linked to North Korea. The WannaCry ‘ransomwar’ attack has infected 300,000+ computers in 150 countries since Friday. Researchers found that some code in an earlier version of the WannaCry software had also appeared in programs used by the Lazarus Group. The group has been identified by some as a North Korea-run hacking operation.
The attacks are among the fastest-spreading extortion campaigns on record. But experts say it’s too early to tell whether North Korea is involved. The Lazarus hackers have previously been accused of stealing $81 million from the Bangladesh central bank. The U.S. has also blamed them for a cyber attack on Sony Pictures in 2014.
