Hercules And The Wagoner

Ngebray.com,- The rain was pouring down and the wheels of the farmer’s wagon became stuck in the very thick mud. His horses came to a standstill, unable to move forward. The farmer jumped down from his wagon, but made no attempt himself to help move the wagon wheels. Instead, he bent upon his knees and prayed to the Heavens that the great god Hercules would come and help him. Hercules did appear, but only to advise the farmer to try first helping himself. So, the farmer bent down and put his own shoulder to one of the wagon’s wheels. He pushed and he shoved and urged on his horses. Gradually, the wheels turned and the wagon moved forward. Soon they were clear and the farmer was once more riding on his wagon, having learned a very good lesson.
