Ngebray.com,- As of January, all Dutch trains now run on 100% with power. The Netherlands’ national rail system is ditching fossil-fuel sources for their electric trains. Working with Dutch electricity company Eneco, their deadline was January 2018. But they hit their goal a year ahead of schedule. The companies say that one windmill, running for an hour powers a train to run over 200km (120 miles).
The wind-fuelled trains serve 600,000 passengers every day. This grand idea is catching on around the world. Wind may soon power trains in Seattle, Santiago, and beyond.
