Ngebray.com,- A routine cataract surgery led to quite the discovery for doctors when they found 27 contact lenses stuck in the patient’s eye. And right up for the British Medical Journal, the authors write 17 of the contacts had become stuck together forming a bluish hard mass and were bound together by mucus.
Ten more lenses were found by the surgeon using a microscope. The 67 year old patient was apparently shocked by the news who had been wearing contacts for 35 years. According to the paper as the patient had deep set eyes which could explain how so many contacts had gotten stuck. But doctors are still baffled that she didn’t notice.
